Get your website ready.

These are the questions and photos I ask every client for before I build. Answer them on your phone. Your answers stay on this device until you choose to send them.

1. Ten questions

Short answers are fine. They become the words on your site; I tidy them up and you check them.

01What do you do, in the words a customer would use?
02Who is it for, and which towns or areas do you cover?
03The three things people ask you for most.
04Which prices can go on the site? "From" prices are fine.
05How should people reach you? Pick the one you answer fastest.
06Your opening hours, and what changes on bank holidays.
07One real reason people pick you over the next business.
08Three questions customers always ask, with your short answers.
09A few lines about you: how long you have been at it, who works with you.
10Words from a happy customer you can quote (ask them first).

2. Your photos

From your phone is fine. Tick them off as you go.

6 to 10 photos of your work: finished jobs, dishes, haircuts or products
One photo of you, or the team, at work
One photo of the place: shopfront, van, salon or workshop
Your logo file, if you have the original (if not, I can redraw it)

Shoot in daylight, wipe the lens first, hold the phone sideways, and skip the filters.

3. The practical bits

Your domain name, if you have one (and who you pay for it). If not, two or three names you like.

Links to your Facebook, Instagram or Google Business Profile.

Which email address should website enquiries go to?

What happens if you send it to me. I reply with a fixed price, usually the same day. Once I have your photos and text, you see a working preview on your phone within 7 days.

You can also keep it, or hand it to any designer. It is yours either way.

Nothing you type here leaves your phone until you press "Email my answers", which opens your own email app with the answers filled in. Your answers are kept in this browser so you can come back later; clear them by emptying the boxes.
